We asked some of our tenants here at Oldknows Factory what they thought of our services and the building they loved to work in – here’s their responses:
Magic & Mentalism
> How do you use the space?
We have two adjacent rooms. One of them we use as a filming studio space, the other we use an office. The studio is always beautifully kept. The other room, not so much (out of sight, out of mind)!
> How has the space helped your business?
Before moving to the Oldknows Factory, we hired filming locations on an ad-hoc basis, paying day rates. As the frequency of our shoot dates increased, so did the costs. It began to make more sense to have our own space. That’s when we discovered Oldknows.
It’s helped the business because it has created consistency across our videos and we now have a permanent base for business meetings and development sessions. (And as a bonus, my filming equipment is no longer clogging up my house!)
> What is your favourite part about Oldknows Factory?
The support. Our landlord has been very supportive of what we’re doing and has helped in any way he can. For instance, allowing us to paint walls and install carpets when he understood the bigger picture of what we’re trying to do. Landlords can typically be awkward but we’ve not experienced that at all. He’s been very generous to us.
> How often do you use the space?
Our filming studio only gets used once or twice a month but I’m in the adjacent office every couple of days to do my general day-to-day work.
> What could we improve?

The space enables our teams to collaborate, inspire and formulate great ideas, which has supported the business’ growth
> How has the space helped your business?
The space has a mixture of formal and informal rooms which have been used to encourage collaboration and fuel productivity
> What is your favourite part about Oldknows Factory?
The space has a tremendous history which has been maintained well throughout the building, despite being repurposed from a factory to individual units, ranging from office spaces to gyms. My favourite part about the Oldknows Factors is that I get to learn about so many businesses that co-occupy the space and the stories from those entrepreneurs who founded these
> How often do you use the space?
In a hybrid working environment, individual teams schedule 2-3 days per week in the office to connect with each other, collaborate and problem-solve!

> How do you use the space?
First and foremost, our space is where we can be creative, and feel inspired. When we open the door to our studio, we are walking into endless possibilities and where our imagination has no bounds. We create content for animation, games and virtual worlds, so having a space like we have in the Olknows Factory is very special to us.
> How has the space helped your business?
Prior to us moving into our studio space at the Oldknows Factory, we were working remotely from home, which was okay, but had its distractions. Since moving into the studio space, we have been more focused, more productive and most of all more creative.
> What is your favourite part about Oldknows Factory?
The landlord, Ashwan. You won’t find a more honest, friendly and professional landlord.
> How often do you use the space?
We use the space daily, and this can sometimes include weekends.
